Describe your idea (200 Words)

According to Tanzania Demographic Health Survey, TDHS (2010), 1 out of 2 married women have been emotionally, sexually or physically abused by their past or current husbands. Experience given by TAMWA (2010/2012) shows that most victims as well as parents and relatives of gender based violence refuse giving evidence to the court. In Temeke streets there are various women experiencing these abuses but bad enough most of them do not speak out or report to any authority about what they face and when they report, they fear to give evidence. I have experienced my own aunt being beaten by her husband since 2008 but she did not want to report anywhere. In 2014 (my aunt) she became deaf and by 2015 their marriage broke up after reporting her issues to government authorities. I think if she could speak out or report earlier she would not be deaf today. The Tagline ''UKINYAMAZA WATAKULIZA'' tells all women particularly in Temeke that, if they do not speak out or report what they face, they will cry someday. The woman at the center represents a crying woman; the flower on her hand represents the love that she has to her husband although she cries. The shapes around her symbolize violence and threats hindering her from speaking out, and the pattern of two hearts (love) shapes shows the data as addressed by TDHS (1 (Red heart) out of 2 married women). The red color represents pain that those women feel, yellow symbolize attention to women (That is THEY MUST SPEAK OUT). Reddish brown and white are just auxiliaries. So, women should speak out and report to the respective authorities once they face any sexual violence. If they do so it will help reduce the rate of women facing sexual and physical violence in their society but also in the whole country.
